We collect data from publicly available sources, where such information is made public by law.

As Milana Yachting's objective is to provide the best possible service to our customers, and a tailor-made and personalized experience, the collection of your data is essential. The law on the protection of personal data allows this as part of our legitimate interest in understanding our customers, to be able to provide a service specific to them. Certain personal information is legally required in the context of some of our activities (obligation to provide proof of identity when selling a yacht, for example).

Please note that we keep a written record of these requests to inform you of any future communications and to document our manner of communicating with you throughout our relationship. DURATION OF STORAGE OF YOUR DATA​

 

We keep your data for a maximum period of 36 months after the last contact following the GDPR law. However, we keep the first and last names of people who no longer wish to be contacted on a “do not contact” list or when the law or any other regulation requires us to keep them.

WHO DO WE SHARE YOUR DATA WITH?​

 

Milana Yachting undertakes not to process, host, or transfer Information collected about its Clients to a country located outside the European Union or recognized as “inadequate” by the European Commission without first informing the client. However, Milana Yachting remains free to choose its technical and commercial subcontractors on the condition that they provide sufficient guarantees concerning the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR: n° 2016-679).

 

We are therefore required to share your data with trusted third parties with whom we work: our skipper or other third parties.

WHAT ARE YOUR RIGHTS OVER YOUR DATA?​

 

If you are an EU citizen, you have the right to make a Data Subject Access Request (DSAR) and request:

  • Access to the personal data we hold about you.

  • The correction of your data when it is inaccurate, incomplete, equivocal, or out of date.

  • We stop using your data for direct marketing purposes.

  • Withdrawal at any time of your consent to the use of your data (article 13-2c GDPR)

  • limitation of the processing of your data (article 18 GDPR)

 

Right to erasure: in certain situations you have the right to ask us to erase your data. If we choose not to comply with your request, we will explain to you the reasons for our refusal. If we accept your request, we will delete your data but we will generally assume that you prefer that we keep your name on our register of people who wish not to be contacted.

In the normal course of our business, we may transfer your data from your country of residence to us and third parties located in or outside the EU. By dealing with us, you provide your consent to this overseas use, transfer, and disclosure of your data outside your country of residence, for our ordinary business.

 

We will ensure that reasonable steps are taken to prevent any third party located outside your country of residence from using your data in any way not set out in this notice. We will also ensure that we adequately protect the privacy and confidentiality of your data.

We will ensure that third parties process your data only following their legitimate interests. These third parties may be subject to laws different from those that apply in your country of residence. Please note that we take no active steps to ensure that any foreign recipient of your data complies with the laws in force in your country.
